1. The Trasimeno Way
The Trasimeno Way is a new trekking path created by the Association “Camminare guarisce” and its president Fabrizio Pepini, and it was inaugurated in April 2018.
The Trasimeno Way is a ring walk which is 160 km long crossing many of the charming hamlets of Umbria. Being circular, everyone can decide where to start and where to stop in his route; it is a medium level of effort trekking, but it is suitable also for first time trekkers.
The route is divided into 7 stages and every stage is about 22 km long.
2. Isola Polvese trekking
The excursion on the Polvese Island is one of the most known trekkings at Lake Trasimeno.
To get to the island, there are some boats running from San Feliciano pier. Once arrived, you can find signals to follow for a nice panoramic walk of about 3.5 km: this trekking is available for adults and families also, and it touches all the main and interesting sites of the island.
At the beginning of the naturalistic itinerary there is the Water Plants Garden, located in an old sandstone mine.
Going forward to the path, it leads to the highest and panoramic point of the Polvese island.
3. Naturalistic route from Magione to Ruffiano Mount
The itinerary from Magione to Ruffiano Mount starts from a widening in front of the Magione cemetery and then it heads to a field path through olive trees with breathtaking and unique panoramic views of the Trasimeno Lake and its islands.
The trekking then leads to the archaeological site of Quarantaia up to Ruffiano Mount.
